Osaka is Japan at its most fun — neon-lit Dotonbori, the world's best street food, a majestic castle and Universal Studios Japan. The nation's most exuberant city.
Plan My TripOsaka is where Japan loosens its tie. The people are warmer, the humour earthier and the food obsession more intense than anywhere else in the country. Osakans literally have a saying — 'kuidaore' — that translates as 'eat yourself bankrupt.'
The neon chaos of Dotonbori, Osaka Castle rising from its moat, Universal Studios Japan and easy day trips to Kyoto and Nara make Osaka the ideal base for exploring western Japan. A city that exceeds every expectation.
